How long does a CV review take?

How long should a CV be in the UK?
Two sides of A4 is the standard for most UK CVs. A school leaver or recent graduate with little experience can often fit everything on one page. Academic CVs, and some senior or clinical CVs, can run to three pages or more to cover publications, grants, audits or board-level experience.
Should I put a photo on my CV in the UK?
No. UK employers do not expect a photo, so leave it out unless the advert asks for one, as some acting and modelling roles do. Leave out your date of birth and marital status too. Employers do not need them to judge whether you can do the job.
Do UK employers use applicant tracking systems?
Yes. Many larger employers and recruitment agencies screen applications with applicant tracking systems (ATS), so a simple layout and the advert’s keywords keep your CV readable.
