What you get

Six deliverables built around how NHS shortlisting actually works. Curious how your current CV reads to recruitment software? Try our free ATS CV checker first.

NMC or HCPC registration, placed correctly

Your registration sits near the top: your NMC PIN and revalidation date (nurses, midwives and nursing associates) or your HCPC registration (most allied health professionals, such as physiotherapists, paramedics and radiographers). Life support training (BLS or ILS) and statutory and mandatory training go where shortlisters look for them.

Supporting statement mapped to the person specification

From Career Growth upwards, your tailored cover letter can be written as an NHS supporting statement for one target post, taking each essential and desirable criterion in turn with real examples from practice, so the shortlisting panel finds clear evidence for every point.

Agenda for Change band progression

Your employment history runs in reverse chronological order with the band, ward or department and organisation named for each post, so a panel recruiting at Band 6 or Band 7 sees your progression and scope at a glance.

Clinical skills and systems named

A skills section built around your area, whether acute medicine, theatres, A&E, community, mental health or maternity, plus the systems you use, such as SystmOne, EMIS, Cerner or Epic, named so recruiters register them.

NHS values, evidenced not claimed

Many trusts recruit against the NHS Constitution values and their own trust values. We show compassion, respect and teamwork through real examples rather than adjectives, so your values come through in the evidence.

UK conventions and ATS-optimised formatting

Two pages of A4, a personal profile at the top, no photo or date of birth, and clean single-column formatting that reads correctly in the recruitment systems used by agencies and private healthcare providers.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an NHS CV writing service cost in the UK?

Our NHS CV packages start at £129. Starter Pack (£129) is an expert-written, ATS-optimised CV keyword-matched to your target role. Career Growth (£169) adds a tailored cover letter, or for NHS applications a supporting statement for one target post, plus a 45-day interview guarantee. Executive Priority (£299) adds a LinkedIn profile rewrite and priority delivery.

Do I need a CV to apply for NHS jobs?

Not always. Most NHS Jobs and Trac posts use an online application form with a supporting statement section. You still need a CV for agency and private healthcare roles, adverts that ask for one, and as the record you copy your history from. Leaving the NHS? See our career change CV writing service.

Can you write my NHS supporting statement?

Yes, from Career Growth (£169) upwards. A CV summarises your whole career, while a supporting statement makes the case for one specific post, so we write it for one target post.

Your writer takes each essential and desirable criterion in the person specification in turn, evidences it with real examples from practice, and keeps it within the application form’s length limit.

How long should an NHS CV be?

Two pages of A4 is the standard for most NHS and healthcare roles. Open with a short personal profile, then your professional registration, employment history in reverse chronological order, education and key training. Clinical academics applying for university posts need a fuller academic CV; see our academic CV writing service.

Should I put a photo on my CV in the UK?

No. UK CVs leave out photos, date of birth and marital status, because they are not relevant to shortlisting and can introduce bias. Your NMC or HCPC registration belongs on your CV, but referees usually do not: NHS application forms ask for referee details separately, and other employers ask for them later.

Do NHS trusts use applicant tracking systems (ATS)?

Yes, but not in the way most people expect. Most NHS applications go through an applicant tracking system such as NHS Jobs, Trac or, in Scotland, Jobtrain, but these are not usually used to rank you by keywords.

Shortlisting is done by the recruiting manager or a panel, who score you against the person specification. Agencies and private providers may use keyword screening, so we write CVs that work for both. Test yours with our free ATS CV checker.

How long does it take to get my NHS CV?

Your first draft arrives within 3 to 5 working days, or within 3 working days on Executive Priority, followed by free revisions. NHS adverts can close early when they attract many applications, so tell us your closing date when you order.

Are your writers NHS nurses?

No, and we are upfront about that. ResumeCroc is an independent CV writing service, not affiliated with the NHS. Our writers are professional CV writers who know how NHS and healthcare recruitment works. You bring the clinical or administrative expertise; we know how to present your registration, band progression and outcomes against a person specification.
