What you get

Six things every graduate CV we write gets right, built around how UK graduate recruiters screen applications. Not ready to order? Start with a free CV review and see where your current CV stands.

Your degree, presented the way recruiters check it

Degree title and classification (or predicted grade), dissertation and relevant modules near the top, with A-levels, Highers or GCSEs summarised briefly for employers who screen on them.

A personal profile with a clear target

Three or four lines at the top that say what you studied, what you offer and which scheme or sector you are aiming for, so a screener knows where you fit in seconds.

Placements and part-time work that count

A placement year, summer internship, weekend retail job or bar shift becomes achievement-led bullet points showing the skills graduate recruiters assess, such as teamwork, communication and commercial awareness.

Targeted to your sector and scheme

Copy tuned to the schemes you are applying for, from finance, consulting and engineering to technology, law, marketing and the public sector, so your CV reads like it was written for that advert.

Societies and achievements as evidence

Society committee roles, sports captaincy, volunteering, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, prizes and scholarships, presented as evidence of leadership and initiative rather than a list of hobbies.

ATS-optimised for graduate recruitment

Large graduate recruiters manage applications through applicant tracking systems. Clean single-column formatting, standard headings and keywords from your target adverts keep a strong application from being filtered out.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a graduate CV writing service cost in the UK?

Our graduate CV packages cost £129, £169 or £299. Starter Pack (£129) is an expert-written, ATS-optimised CV for your target role. Career Growth (£169) adds a tailored cover letter and our 45-day interview guarantee. Executive Priority (£299) adds a LinkedIn profile rewrite and a first draft within 3 working days.

How long should a graduate CV be in the UK?

One to two sides of A4 is right for most UK graduates. With limited experience, a tight, well-evidenced single page often beats a padded two-pager, and some sectors, such as investment banking, expect one page. Use the space for your degree, relevant experience and achievements, not for long lists of duties or a references section.

Should I put a photo or my date of birth on a graduate CV?

No. UK employers do not expect a photo, date of birth or marital status on a CV, and leaving them off keeps the focus on your skills and supports fair recruitment. Your name, phone number, email address, town or city and a LinkedIn URL are all the contact details a graduate CV needs.

What if I have little or no relevant work experience?

That is normal for graduates, and it is where a professional writer adds the most value. We draw evidence from part-time jobs, placements, internships, society roles, volunteering and your dissertation, then frame it around the skills graduate recruiters assess, such as teamwork, communication and commercial awareness. A weekend retail job, written well, says a lot.

Should I include my degree classification, A-levels and GCSEs?

Yes, in most cases. Put your degree classification near the top, or your predicted grade if you are still studying, such as “BSc (Hons) Economics, predicted 2:1”. Many graduate employers also ask about A-levels (or Scottish Highers) and GCSEs, especially English and Maths, so we summarise them briefly alongside relevant modules.

Do UK graduate recruiters use applicant tracking systems?

Yes. Many large graduate employers receive high volumes of applications and use applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage and screen them, so a clean single-column layout, standard headings and keywords from the job advert all matter. Every CV we write is ATS-optimised, and our free ATS checker lets you test your current CV.

Do graduate schemes want a CV, an application form or a cover letter?

It depends on the employer. Many graduate schemes use online application forms with competency or motivation questions, often alongside a CV upload, while others ask for a CV and cover letter. A well-evidenced CV gives you a bank of examples to reuse in application questions, video interviews and assessment centre interviews.

How quickly will I get my CV if a graduate scheme deadline is close?

Your first draft arrives within 3 to 5 working days, or within 3 working days with Executive Priority, followed by free revisions. Many large graduate schemes open applications in the autumn and some close early or recruit on a rolling basis, so ordering a few weeks before your deadlines lets you apply early.
